Donation received from NERO Larp

Click here to visit NERO webpage Last night, Diary of a Croatian Larper has received a generous donation from Joseph Valenti of NERO larp. This is a public "thank you" note. This donation will help a lot in covering the operational costs of this blog - both from technical standpoint and content-wise. A bit of statistics: most of my readership (about 46% of total traffic) is from USA, where NERO is based. It's followed by Croatia (20% total traffic), Germany, UK and Hungary. As a blogger, I'm always grateful for positive feedback and support. This donation will positively impact all articles on this blog - and I got some interesting stuff planned... Should you wish to donate yourself dear readers, check out my Patreon page for more details or contact me. Thanks and it will be greatly appreciated!

Interview with Michael A Ventrella, Alliance larp

I've covered non-Croatian stuff on this blog before. Drachenfest, Mythodea, news from the regional larp scene (Serbia, Hungary, Slovenia), Nordic larp theories, Petra's interview with Claus Raasted, etc. Today we're having an interview with Michael A Ventrella, who's one of the people who basically invented American larp (which is not SCA or a battlegame group). He's got lots of information and tips to share, so here it goes. 1. Thank you for your time! Could you tell us a bit about yourself and Alliance larp? I was one ...

Start a LARP! It's easy - use your imagination, and create your world and way of playing. However, you might have some reservations about doing it from scratch. Not a problem! There are, luckily, available resources on the internet which can help you run a LARP. You'll find everything, from ideas and advice (such as on this site), free fantasy rules (such as Simple LARP system and others), and even some pretty much complete deals whether you want to run one-shots or campaign style larps. Various larp sites around the world can be your resource to start a LARP. Other LARPs might also let you use their rulesets. Or you might use them without their knowledge, which they might be OK with or not. Some LARPs organize themselves in networks or franchises, and you can open a chapter, utilize already existing resources and connect to various players around the country or world who run games under that system. Examples are: Amtgard - a battlegame society, full contact, sporty ba...
