Diary of a Croatian larper

After almost two years , I was talking about larp on national TV again, together with a larper colleague, +Ana Rajner   :) This time we got slightly under four minutes of programming. Here's our story - and a couple of larp trailers played along: If you don't understand Croatian, it's basically a general description of what larp is. It was shown this Friday afternoon on HRT2, and it had a rerun today around noon on HRT3. In better resolution than what they released for online viewing, but I digress. You can watch the entire show here  if you're interested. Just select the 8.3.2013. date. Also, a digression - a friend of mine dug up some old photos. Including the photo of me from the first larp I was ever on. A 17-year old me playing a young barbarian on Kutina Summer Session 2001... My first larp Which was really cool. I thought there was no surviving photos from that era. Here's another from the old Motovun larp (after it was done and before we went ...

It's Friday and weekend is almost here. It's looking to be really interesting, especially tomorrow. Saturday, February 23rd, will feature two larps. First is Maksimir 63. It will be the first Maksimir larp in over four months, and the first larp of the new OzOI, Ognjeni Mač's plot team. If you recently started reading us: Maksimir is a free fantasy larp series in the common Croatian fantasy world, each event lasting a few hours in the Maksimir park. There seems to be a lot of excitement around Ognjeni Mač considering this event, so despite the fact it started to snow hard - and it will snow hard for the entire weekend - seems it will not get cancelled, making it one of the rare snow larps by Ognjeni Mač. Second is a private playtest of a certain one-shot larp which I know very little about (and what I know I probably shouldn't be mentioning much in this stage) but I'm very excited about it as it will be the first larp by some people. It's a very good thing ...

Right now I'm on my way to the filming of the show "8. kat" on HRT, Croatian national television. 8. kat (meaning: 8th Floor) is a Croatian talk show resembling the popular Oprah Show. I'll be talking about LARP of course :) And there will be several members of Ognjeni Mač in the public. In full LARP gear. The show will be played on TV in about two weeks, and will be available here  for a while. I'll attempt to get a recording which I can link somewhere else then :) There will be other guests, reenactors, trekkies, cosplayers, writers etc. - basically everyone who's working on making the imaginary worlds come alive. LARP got some serious TV coverage now, especially considering we were also filmed during SFeraKon last weekend. Update: Here's the video: And that SFerakon video I mentioned is here:
