Diary of a Croatian larper

Labuđa Rijeka site - swim & fight! As I announced yesterday , there will be three larps this weekend - and Labuđa Rijeka 3, the water battlegame, has been postponed (again!) for two weeks due to weather forecast. There will be a regular battlegame day on Krvomeđe instead (starting later, from 4 PM so it's a good chance I'll be able to attend), and Labuđa Rijeka has been announced for July 27th which means I'll miss it (that day, the battle I'm gonna be on will be the end battle of Drachenfest).

Three short larps (so far, unless something new pops up) will be held on the weekend July 13th and 14th. All of them fantasy. Saturday will bring us Maksimir 69 by Ognjeni Mač - starting and ending later than usual. At the same time, another larp will start in Ivanovac, near Osijek - the Korogyvar fortress that's a regular location of the Utvrda Svijetlosti larp. This will be an overnight larp adventure called "Nasljeđe" (Inheritance), and the sign up is here . It will finish at Sunday morning - when cars from Zagreb will head to Jarče Polje where a water battlegame "Labuđa Rijeka 3" will be held. If weather's gonna be cold, it will be canceled in favor of regular Krvomeđe battlegames later in the afternoon. I'll be at the wedding, so I'd probably skip all these.

Yesterday's announcement about shortening of Rajski Vrhovi XVIII caused a wave of cancellations. This morning that decision was overturned in favor of postponing the event for the next weekend (but doing it hopefully in its fullness as a camping event instead of the shortened version). So please disregard the previous post. The new info is: Rajski Vrhovi XVIII have been postponed to the next weekend, July 5th - 7th. This will also push Labuđa Rijeka a week later to the Sunday after, July 14th.

The summer is going slower than usual. Majčin Gaj, which was supposed to be held last weekend, has been canceled and postponed until further notice due to Siro falling ill - and he's the main organizer and GM. Unfortunately, the cancelation was pretty much last minute, which sparked some discussions in the community - many players went angry because there was no "backup plan", and the game was simply not held. However, it would have been a different game with someone else in charge. When a larp is guided by one man's vision instead of a group, it certainly has both benefits and drawbacks. Personally, I still hope Majčin Gaj will be held at some point this year... This leaves Rajski Vrhovi XVII this weekend as the big fantasy larp in the second half of the summer, standing out because unlike June - July there are no other big larps scheduled around it. I'm being a part of the GM team on this Rajski Vrhovi with Ivo and Mario, so naturally I'm looking forward ...
