Warcraft Live 2015 review

Troll Witch Doctor "You guys have Warcraft larp?!?" was my first reaction when I heard it several years ago from Hungarian players. Considering that I spent a significant portion of my childhood playing Warcraft 1, 2 and 3 and a lot of time playing World of Warcraft later on (here's a shout-out to all my guildies from Final Equilibrium, EU-Aggramar, you guys rock) I knew I also want to visit this larp, eventually. So after meeting the GM in person on Demgard  and a few days of consideration, I decided to attend this year - see what's it all about, so I signed up for Warcraft Live 2015, the sixth larp in the series. The storyline of the larp was set during The Burning Crusade expansion, and I built myself a blood elf costume - from a red robe and armor that were just laying around my larp collection, and the GM had a Blood Knight tabard to go with it. Perfect. I had some elf ears to go with it (cheap ones, now I regret not making better ones) and I made some fak...

This weekend: Liburnicon, Vampire larps and more!

The convention Liburnicon in Opatija starts today. Well, only the outdoor stage. The real stuff starts tomorrow, making it probably the longest Sci-Fi convention in Croatia so far. It's not the only convention in Croatia this weekend - there's Domikon in Donji Miholjac - but it has no RPG content, so it's not going to be subject of this article. Now back to Liburnicon. And it will be full with larp content, thanks to Miroslav Wranka aka Siro who's going to ensure there's larp content on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Convention schedule can be found here . Thursday at 8 PM, there will be a Larp FAQ presentation. Friday at 9:30 PM, expect the Upoznajte larpere ( Meet the larpers ) panel discussion. And be sure not to miss Siro's  Pokret otpora larp (Resistance movement) which will premiere on Saturday at 8 PM. It will be a short (1 hour) Nordic-style chamber larp for six people, featuring pregenerated characters. So make sure you reserve your spot on ...

Elysium 6 and local larp news

Yesterday evening was Camarilla Agram Elysium 6 , which made me realize... damn, we're already in double digits. With three Embrace the Night intro events last year, six Elysium events and two main line events, it was the eleventh Vampire larp that we ran in the last half a year. A lot of players already being on the XP cap, a total of 14 players took part in Elysium 6 , making it a purely social event for its' duration. And there was a lot to discuss - Ventrue and Nosferatu clans have selected their new primogens, and there was a lot of online role-play action which was discussed during the evening. The event started lively, but slowed down a bit as Ventrue players - and there were five of them present yesterday - moved away for a Ventrue meeting, and came back just before event ended. But those last few minutes were some of the most tense ones of the event, as there was a tense staredown and several accusations thrown between Brujah and Ventrue over a drawing. It...
