Diary of a Croatian larper

Izgon larp had some hiccups in the beginning, but it's progressing along very nicely. It took a couple of days to get going fully... which is very interesting, but highly expected. I'm documenting every step of the larp and I'll publish it once it's done. At this point, I'm really curious how the participants like it so far, but of course it would be breaking character for them to answer, so I'll withold those questions until larp ends in a month. You can still sign up to participate in this larp and have plenty of meaningful stuff to do - sign-ups for secondary roles are open  until one week before larp ends... Izgon (or: The Exile)  preparations are going great. Sign-ups are over ( or are they really? ), the rules, setting and all characters have been written and sent to players. A little bit more preparatory work, and it will be all ready to start this Sunday morning! Just a quick update for today. Yesterday was Krvomeđe. With the weather being somewhat wet, a total of five players showed up. Unfortunately, I was not there either as other things came up. But I heard they had some fun. Apparently there was an archery contest, and some battles. Next event will be not Krvomeđe, but Sunčev Kotar in two weeks. It's a third event in the series - first Sunčev Potočić was a small feast in late autumn of 2010., second one was in March last year by Green Banner Croatia, and the third one will be on March 23rd, in shared organization of Green Banner Croatia, Krvomeđe and Ognjeni Mač - a similar model to the one used on Crolarp last year. I realize it's been a while since I posted here. Sorry about that, there's actually a lot of stuff that has been going on - it's me who's been quite busy lately (and right now I'm in the middle of home redecoration week). I've attended February's Krvomeđe and Sunčev Potočić feast. Krvomeđe was a bit under-visited, and Sunčev Potočić was certainly interesting. High-security personnel (in-character) made this LARP... a bit different than most of us are used to. Some tensions were high, I'm sure things will get a bit more relaxed next time around. I have announced Terra Nova 2012 location, dates and prices. Terra Nova 2012 will be held from June 1st until June 3rd in Zajezda, Croatia - more specifically, scout camp "Javorje". Prices will be 30 kn (€4) for NPCs, 60 kn (€8) for PCs for all three days. Toilets and showers will be available on site. The introductory storyline will be posted soon on Terra Nova website , and part of it will be played on intro feast on March 17th. I've completed translating the rules (it will use ConQuest of Mythodea rules) to Croatian last week, so that makes it second translated LARP ruleset in Croatian ever (after Amtgard). Sven's Steampunk LARP has unfortunately been postponed until further notice, so it will not be held next weekend. Maksimir is still being held next weekend, and Sunčev Potočić at the same location 2 weeks later has not been affected and will be held normally. Eko selo Žumberak aka Sunčev Potočić This year's first overnight LARP has just been announced past weekend. It will be the second Sunčev Potočić feast so far - first was held in November 2010, and you can find the full photo gallery here . It will be held on March 3rd and 4th in Eko selo Žumberak , and it will use Ognjeni Mač ruleset (previous one used standard Amtgard). In the wake of that announcement, Krvomeđe was moved two weeks later, from March 4th to March 18th, which will put it a day after Terra Nova intro feast , which is OK since Terra Nova will be a shorter, single day event (and in a different game setting). First Sunčev Potočić was a really nice feast, despite the fact there was some confusion on it. I had great fun on it, and for some players it was their first LARP event - it was also internationally significant, as we had some guests from Austria.
