Lateralus announcements for next year and Tragači zore - days after

Yesterday evening was quite exciting. The presentation of Tragači zore was given, and the larp was discussed, as well as our experiences. Ana and Božo also gave an overview of what they tried to accomplish, and we went once again through everything for people who were not there.

We all shared our moments of play and suggestions. Sanja Lovrenčić, the author of "Zmije Nikonimora" trilogy was also there, she was touched that we brought her world to life and held a small speech.

Two projects by Lateralus for 2013 were also announced.

One of them will be a larp convention on Filozofski fakultet (Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences) in Zagreb, scheduled for March 1st - 3rd, 2013. It will be open to all interested participants (domestic and international larp groups) who sign-in prior to the convention. It's planned to be more of a "by larpers, for larpers" in content, to advance larp among larpers, not a what-is-larp promo to the general public (though everyone interested is welcome).

Second of them will be a mythological larp, and it will be a biggie. It's neither a one-shot nor campaign - it will have four parts. A GM team of fourteen will be responsible for running various parts of it (I'll be one of them). It's scheduled for the weekend of June 21-23, 2013.

The 15 rules of larp

The following 15 rules (warning: strong language) were written some years ago in Great Britain, and have been pretty much generally accepted on the British larp scene. These are all questions that people interested in larp ask all the time. And in over three years of writing this blog and over 350 posts on it, I just remembered I haven't written any decent advice for new and potential players. And that's why it's harder than it seems. Not preparing for your first larp, but writing about it. Different larps can be quite different, and can be even more confusing to existing larpers (used to another style) than to those who never larped before.

World of Darkness Berlin and Enlightenment in Blood

How do I even start this article? Fair warning: it will be long (TL;DR - best larp experience of my life). It will be emotional. Sometimes rambling, or jumping from one subject to another. It will include both what took part on the con, before it, after it, and some of my own thoughts and reflections on it. Last weekend I took a part in World of Darkness Berlin convention - first of its' type in Europe. Unfortunately, it was in the same time slot as SFeraKon in Zagreb, but when you have an opportunity such as this - well, you don't miss it. The convention, most of it taking place in Mercure hotel MOA Berlin (with several events in other venues), had covered almost every possible expression of World of Darkness, it's licensees and IPs - tabletop role-play, larps, V:TES collectible card game, and more.
